Early Start is a free pre-school programme for children from our locality who will continue their schooling in St. Brigid’s Infant School, Finglas. Children must be aged more than 3 years 2 months and less than 4 years 7 months on the 1st day of September of the year in which they are enrolled.
Early Start is a play-based language enrichment programme. Children learn actively through play, story, song and games. We incorporate outdoor learning and have a safe outdoor play area with lots of outdoor play equipment. We have two Early Start rooms in our school, Room 9 and Room 10. Each classroom is staffed by a primary teacher and a childcare worker. In Early Start, children’s language, cognitive, emotional and social skills improve. They enter Junior Infants as competent, confident learners.
